Funding Update!
The Department for Education (DfE) has recently announced the PE and Sport Premium funding for Primary Schools is to be doubled for 2017/2018.
What are the changes to the funding?
· Schools with 16 or fewer eligible pupils receive £1,000 per pupil.
· Schools with 17 or more eligible pupils receive £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil.
The DfE will publish the school level breakdown of funding for the academic year 2017 to 2018, including conditions of grant, in October 2017.
With the DfE setting clear guidelines on how this funding should be spent it is important for Primary Schools to use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and Sport they offer.
